The promise of introducing greater automation and autonomy from AI-based tools is, as Braze’s Chief Business Officer Ashta Malik put it on stage on Day 2 of Braze Forge, “giving marketers more room to think.” Yet that time has been spent on some important, if time-consuming tasks.

So, to paraphrase a bit: with great self-service martech capabilities come with great responsibility. And in marketing, that responsibility comes in the form of strategy, judgment, governance and making sure you communicate with customers with the right messaging at the right time.

Part of that equation is deciding what is best to focus on.

Bill Magnuson, co-founder and CEO of Braze, opened up the conference by saying that adopting AI isn’t simply about speeding things up, but “the important question is what work we will hand over to AI, and what we will do in place of it.” For those heading home from the conference, plenty of ideas were shared on how to spend that extra time.
