S3 | Episode 155: Leadership and Living Systems with Mark Morey

About the Episode

Today we’re going to talk about the critical role of leadership in company culture. To help me discuss this topic, I’d like to welcome Mark Morey, Founder, A Connected Leader. He works to transform outdated and struggling work environments into living systems of learning and growth.

About Mark Morey

For the last six months, Mark has been the executive coach for the VP at NIKE infrastructure engineering and developed three leadership development programs with unprecedented results. Prior to that, Mark created new long-term offerings in several software companies directly addressing the financial cost of employee disengagement.

"Deeper than the tangible benefits of Gratitude in the workplace; Marks Thrive on Demand course opens an introspective eye into self, ego, id, as the sessions build. One that doesn’t feel like an inquisition, but a curious adventure. Being in a heightened state of gratitude is infectious to your own routines; personal, family, work, friends, strangers; it addresses a systemic issue many of us have called being “too busy” “stressed” or otherwise unavailable to be truly emotionally connected to others, and appreciate every moment.

I encourage everyone, regardless of how much you’ve “figured it out”, to attend this course; you might just surprise yourself in a setting of gratitude." - Principal Engineer, at Nike

Mark Morey is skilled at helping leaders develop the capacity to self-manage as well as bring about self-led changes in others. Eventually, teams come to appreciate a culture of learning and development as work gets done. Meaningful work relationships and leadership advancement are common results.

"Working with Mark and participating in the Connected Leadership exercises has helped me to develop the skills and habits to better manage my job on a daily basis but, more importantly, to be a better person. I'm able to take the deep breaths needed and put things in a better perspective.

Before participating in the Connected Leader program I struggled with staying motivated and managing my emotions at work but now I feel like I have the guide book to perform better and just be happier." - Lead Product and Process Lead at Nike

His one-on-one executive coaching sessions mentor executives in regenerative leadership to become highly-skilled in creating connected and conscious cultures. His clients learn to apply ecological wisdom to business practices for sustainable, regenerative practices and a resilient, thriving company culture.

Mark has designed over 1000 multi-day leadership trainings in the past 20 years. As a keynote speaker he has motivated tens of thousands in North America and Europe on the topics of human connection, leadership, and visionary change for a better world. He has worked with NIKE, Google, Envisage and Harvard.
